What's this about?

Ants are really neat. Most of us are probably aware of how ants operate like a little society. They create complex systems of tunnels and chambers. They designate jobs such as workers, warriors and queens. Ants are efficient machines that are constantly being productive (unlike your dog who's probably collapsed in your living room and drooling on your carpet as you read this).

An ant farm will allow you to watch a small group of ants become a full blown colony of time. This project doesn't need much to get started either. I made my most successful ant farm when I was 10 years old with nothing but a pickle jar. The ants still tended to build their tunnels along the sides of the glass so I could see everything they were doing. It was awesome.

There's no point in explaining how to do this here. You can easily search for instructions or use some of the links I posted below.

Things you may need

  1. dirt
  2. ants
  3. water dropper
  4. glass jar
  5. fish bowl

Seriously, my uncle has this ant farm and it was rude like Jude. He had literally thousands of warrior ants.

Well... they escaped and they crawled into the brain of the family cat. They TOOK CONTROL of the conveniently still clawed cat. So THINK TWICE before you go messing with ants!
